Finally, the long awaited day arrived and I hosted a Food Photography & Styling Workshop with Chef Jenny of I Forgot It’s Wednesday. The two of us have taught classes and workshops individually and for other companies, but this was our first joint workshop together. It almost felt like we were taking our relationship to the next step, hah! We had been prepping weeks and weeks before, with lots of google docs and doggie playdates to discuss and plan. The day of, one or five drinks may or may not have been consumed pre-class…
As much as I wanted to bake everything from scratch, for my own sanity, I decided against it.
Jenny and Matt, chief Imbiber of I Forgot It’s Wednesday, dedicated their Friday night prepping all the mouth-watering food and drinks for the plating part of the class. Hats off to them for their dedication!! (Insert applause emoji here)
The class started off with Jenny going over food safety, party prep, and then the art of plating. Workshop attendees also learned how to make their own pretzels, poach an egg, and create their own culinary masterpiece.
Afterwards, I taught attendees how to style and photograph their food. It was awesome to be in a place where you can whip out your phone, camera and photograph your food to your heart’s content with no judgment.
These fingerling potatoes were cooked in salt and butter. YES.
And luckily for us, the talented Sarah of Escaping Wonderland filmed the whole thing!! Watch her video below.
