If it weren’t for my roommate and his boyfriend, I don’t think I would ever emerge from my cave. Nothing can convince me to step out of the warmth of our home into the icy, freezing cold. However, after witnessing the exhaustive efforts that goes into New York fashion week, it only seemed right to sack it up and truly appreciate their invitation to see the product of incredible and hard work. My roommate and I braved the cold to attend the Alice and Olivia Fall 2015 fashion show. Unlike other brands, their show was not centered around a catwalk, but involved intricate set designs, showcasing pieces from their collection. In many ways, this experience was much more enjoyable without the level of pretentiousness often associated with the catwalk. You were able to take your time to absorb each set design and mingled with others over champagne in a warm, open space. Take this gentleman, for example, who definitely got a shining opportunity to take a picture and mingle with the models.
I was awestruck by the attention to detail in every set design from the backdrop to the props to the selection of the venue itself. This really added another dimension to Alice and Olivia’s clothing designs and accessories. But… enough writing; I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves.
Now, if the Alice and Olivia Fall 2015 collection did not take your breath away, I don’t know what will. Overall, an amazing collection and major kudos to Robert for helping put such a beautiful show together!
