After brunch in Williamsburg, my roommate could not resist stopping by his favorite chocolate shop called Mast Brothers. Though, truthfully, I am not a fan of chocolate (blasphemy, I know), I decided to take a peek and see what the fuss was about anyway. I was pleasantly surprised by everything they had to offer. When we walked in, it looked and smelled as though we were walking into Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory. A beautifully lit space welcomed us with a long rustic table offering chocolate samples of every kind.
I was enamored by the cute and colorful wrapping they used for each type of chocolate. They had a variety of chocolate bars homemade from processed cacao sourced from family farms in Central and South America.
What’s awesome is that they make their chocolate bars right in that store! You can see all the equipment and hard workers cranking out chocolate in the back, exposed to the public and emanating such sweet scents.
Mast Brothers also had a variety of chocolaty treats to offer beyond their hand crafted chocolate bars. There were cookies and truffles galore available for purchase.
If chocolate bars and sweet treats weren’t enough, Mast Brothers also offers cacao nibs, chocolate chips and a family cookbook — not a bad thing to add to your pantry for your next baking project.
